A series of Queer/Trans legacy visual art and performances taking place June 2026 in Pioneer Square during Seattle Pride and the simultaneous FIFA men’s sports World Cup the neighboring Stadium District.
Children of Shelly’s Leg reclaims space and visibility in Pioneer Square, the historic gay neighborhood of Seattle and home of Seattle’s first gay bar/disco Shelly’s Leg, at a time with unprecedented political attacks on transgender rights.
Programming will consist of public activations in vacant store fronts, street poster art and projections on buildings during times of high foot traffic during the Fifa World Cup with slogans such as “We Need All Of Us.” There will additionally be programming outside of game nights for local lgbt community.
Curated by local queer/trans artists Elliat Graney-Saucke, Molly Vaughan and Stephen Anunson and organized under Living Dream Lab.
The spirit of Shelly’s Leg lives on in her children.
